Las Vegas Philharmonic’s Milestone Season
In March 2012, the orchestra will perform in its new venue, Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. It will be an exciting journey as we start the Masterworks and Pops Series at Artemus W. Ham Concert Hall on UNLV campus and end the season at The Smith Center in Symphony Park in downtown Las Vegas.
More than ever, we need the support of the Las Vegas community through subscriptions and financial contributions as we stand alone in our efforts to raise funds to facilitate our move into The Smith Center. With your help, we can achieve our goals and maintain our high standards of artistic programming and performance as well as develop additional educational programs for our children and community.
The Las Vegas Philharmonic has a stellar line-up of performances, starting with one of the most important classical works, Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. After rave reviews and a sold out show in 2010, Ol' Blue Eyes is back in October! Vincent Falcone will guest conduct the Philharmonic in a tribute to Frank Sinatra. The year will end with a Masterworks performance including Glazunov's Violin Concerto in A minor and our annual holiday Pops celebration in December. In February 2012, the Philharmonic will offer a Rising Star performance with guest pianist, Haochen Zhang, the youngest recipient of the Van Cliburn Gold Medal. Our grand entrance into The Smith Center on March 24th will feature Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2 Resurrection. To end the season, the Philharmonic will present an evening of George Gershwin's greatest hits and a final classical performance of Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 ("New World") and Respighi's The Pines of Rome.
Do not wait, complete your subscription orders now and join the Las Vegas Philharmonic as it celebrates the 2011- 2012 season!
