The Las Vegas Philharmonic is dedicated
to providing informative and entertaining educational
programs that reach out and inspire children to appreciate
the great music of the past three centuries. These programs
include Masterclasses with esteemed artists from across
North America and around the world as well as our very
popular Youth Concert series designed
and conducted by LV Phil Associate Conductor Richard
McGee.
These concerts are presented at the Artemus
W. Ham Concert Hall for Clark County 4th and 5th graders
in collaboration with the Clark County School District
Partnership Program. For many of the students attending
these concerts, this is their first encounter with the
concert experience and the responses from parents, teachers
and students have been overwhelmingly positive. Currently,
the LV Phil performs 10 Youth concerts in early January
before over 18,000 eager students.
The LV Phil Masterclass
programs are designed to allow advanced students the
opportunity to perform and to be critiqued by eminent
artists that the Philharmonic has engaged as guests for
its subscription and soirée
concerts. For aspiring young artists, these classes have
been invaluable in providing a deep insight into the challenges
they will encounter as they pursue their careers in a very
competitive industry. The LV Phil Masterclasses are archived
and available for your viewing on this website as an extended
courtesy of the Philharmonic’s educational services.
All of these activities
are cost free for the students participating in them.
Thus it is to individuals and businesses that we look
to for ongoing support to sustain these opportunities.
Please consider joining our “Kids
to Concerts” patrons at the minimum donation of $50
to help us defray the expenses associated with providing
these programs.
Your gift will be acknowledged in our
concert program in a separate listing and you will have
the assurance that we will continue to refine and broaden
our programs to serve all interested students throughout
the Las Vegas valley. |
